Today, I had to do my Music Assessment because I was absent last Thursday. I did it after Serena's (she also didn't do it) and I was supervised by Mr. John. I think I did great and all that practice paid off because I got an 8/10! Some people had to redo too, so I wasn't alone :)
We got a new assessment, but I don't I should write it here since it's too easy. Hopefully I'll get a good score on that one too! :D

21st May 2012
Today, everyone had to practice for the upcoming music assessment. I played half of Andantino to speed things up. I did pretty good, but I'm nervous because I can't really play the other verse! I also have trouble memorising it! I hope things will be good.

14th May 2012
Today, we got our test scores back. I'm not going to post it here but I can honestly say I could've done better. We also learnt how to read (and sing) the notes. I had to sing the notes up in front, and I couldn't sing it right. Serena got every note right though, wish I had a stunning voice like hers :P When I sang my friends (and most people in my class) were like
10th May 2012
Today, each instrument class was once again represented by 2 people. The guitar class was represented by Ian and Mourezky. We also reviewed notes, which was easier to understand than the last time, so yay for me.
7th May 2012
Today, each instrument class was represented by 2 people. I was one them and I played the scales. The other guy is Jonathan, and he too played the scales. I wanted to play Andantino, but I wasn't too good at it so I played scales instead.

3rd May 2012
Today, we had a Johann Sebastian Bach comprehension quiz. It was pretty easy. Afterwards, two students from each instrument class had to play a song. Angie and Inka represented the guitar class. During guitar class, I tried playing tabs (it was kinda hard). Inka helped me play the first note and I nailed it! :D I'm going to practice playing 'Canon' because that's what I want to play for the Music Assessment on the 18th of May. Hopefully I will be able to play it AWESOMELY~~~

12th April 2012
Today we received the dates of the assessments. Some people paired up and practiced the Santa Lucia in front of the class. Turns out there were some typos in the lyrics we had to correct :P. The whole class practiced with Mr. Hary and Mr. Herry, some vocal exercises (which were really simple :D) The assessment for Santa Lucia is actually next Monday! MUST. PRACTICE!
9th April 2012
Today we practiced singing a new song. It was a western song from the Baroque Era. It was called Santa Lucia. We practiced it although it was a little hard. Not only is it an old song, it's also in Italian! AND IT'S FOR OUR ASSESSMENT. I hope I am able to sing it on assessment day, so I won't mess up like last time.

19th March 2012
Today, Inka and Angie represented the guitar class by practicing their melody upfront. We have a melody-playing assessment due on Thursday and I am honestly scared and nervous because I do not really know how to play my own composition. I need to practice a lot at home or else I will get a bad mark. Hopefully, on the assessment, I get a good score. Booyah.

5th March 2012
Today, our IDU groups were given numbers for performing. My group got number 8 (the last to perform! :D) Each instrument class had a representative to perform their finale composition. The guitar class picked Inka over Enza, and she played AWESOMELY (though she got some wrong). In instrument class I practiced the notes, and lived happily ever after. THE END.

1st March 2012
Today, our scores for the booklet were announced! I was so happy when I got 8/8! PERFECT SCORE! We also had to fill in the assessment booklet for the finale program. Lastly, we had to take a picture for the singing assessment because Mr. Hary didn't take a picture during the actual assessment. It took most of our time, so we had a VERY short instrument class.

20 February 2012
Today Mr. Hary was absent, so Mr. Sadhrack substituted our music theory. We submitted our booklets, and filled up the assessment paper. We also discussed the content of our music booklet, especially the baroque era. After we submitted, we exchanged snack time for instrument class, which means after instrument class we get snack, rather than the other way around.
9 February 2012
Today wee got divided into groups (we stuck to our own instrument group) and Inka wrote the melody for our group. Our group is composed of the students in the guitar class. Inka wrote the song based on the piano but it also works on the guitar. We also learnt about melodies.
6 February 2012
Today we discussed more about our music booklet assignment.
After discussing we composed our own 32 bar composition.Saturday, February 4, 2012
2nd February 2012
Today we learnt about notes. We were also given a schedule for the due dates of our assessments. Mr. Hary discussed about the Music Booklet assessment. He said it should be about composers during the Baroque Era. It should also include the famous songs from the composers, and a bit of information about the composers themselves. I'm not sure what we're going to learn next time, but I have a good feeling we're going to learn about notes again. :D
30th January 2012
Today, some people redid the singing assessment. They had to because their scores were below the passing scores. Thankfully I didn't have to do it because my score was 8/10. I could've gotten it better if i didn't fail at the high note, or if I had memorised the song :/ Whilst the people were redoing the test, the others reviewed the scales. Now I'm getting the hang of memorising the scales. Next time, I'll bet we'll study more scales. I hope so because I still get confused when it comes to putting the sharps... :O
19th January 2012
Today, we reviewed more about scales. We also practised more singing, and sang a song. By singing do re mi over and over, I got the hang of singing, but those high notes are hard. Next time, I bet we'll sing individually, hopefully I can get those high notes perfectly! :D
16th January 2012
Today, Mr. Hary taught us scales, such as C Major, D Major and more. We were also given rules to follow by, such as bringing your resources at every meeting. After we learnt about scales, we were divided in to singing groups and practised singing. Next time, I bet we'll learn more about scales, and hopefully I know where to put the sharps. :)
